Wireless Technology
A wireless receiver connected to the security control panel allows you to
protect areas that you can't reach with wires. Today's advancement in wireless
technology has made wireless expansion very dependable. Almost all security
control panels accommodate wireless technology today to make expansion to those
hard to reach areas possible.
The wireless expansion will consist of a
transmitter(s) and a receiver. The receiver is usually mounted inside the
security control panel and receives signals from transmitting devices such as
wireless door/window transmitters. Once the signal is received by the receiver,
the security control panel processes this information just like a standard door
or window contact. The transmitters operate using small batteries, usually
lithium for longer life, and operate much like a standard door or window
contact.
Remote Keyfobs Keyfob
The keyfob
gives a customer convenient flexible control over their system. Additionally it
doubles as a panic button. The security system can be remotely turned on or off
outside of the protected premises. The keyfob is usually small enough to be
carried on a key ring. Keyfobs can also be programmed to operate the overhead
garage door and even turn on lights.
